The report of the Pissarides committee proposes:

Reinforcement of health system costs from the budget but also of pre-school education and post-school training structures

PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED

Evaluation

According to the Eurostat classification (Government expenditure by function – COFOG), in 2019 Greece spent 5.7% of its GDP on health and in 2020 the corresponding percentage was 6.7%.

In preschool education, Greece in 2019 spent 1.3% of its GDP and in 2020 the corresponding percentage was 1.4%.

Therefore, the proposal is evaluated as partially implemented, until there is a significant difference in the increase of expenses in both categories.
