The report of the Pissarides committee proposes:

Creation of a single digital collateral registry. Inclusion of more information in the existing credit registry (Tiresias)

APPLIED

Evaluation

The provisions of Law 4972/2022 establish a Central Credit Registry (the "Register"), as a national system
archiving of personal data. The Registry is an information system that will be maintained at the Bank of Greece (the "Bank") and will record on an analytical basis the payment history, the types of collateral provided and any other information related to any form of credit to natural or legal persons from credit and financial institutions in general that have their registered office in Greece, as well as from branches of foreign credit or financial institutions that operate in Greece.

The architecture of the Authority's Integrated Information System in question will be designed in such a way as to interoperate with similar systems (platforms, databases, networks, etc.), such as those of other public and private sector entities, with a similar mission, which maintain and manage relevant data, such as those of TIRESIAS S.A., credit institutions, credit and loan management companies, the Independent Public Revenue Authority, the Electronic National Social Security Agency and the General Secretariat of Public Administration Information Systems.

Therefore, the proposal is assessed as implemented.
